Public Services Librarian Manager – Children’s.

DATE: August 9, 2019
HOURS: Full-time, 40-hour work week, including evenings and weekend hours
SALARY: $18.22/hour with an excellent benefits package, including 22 days of paid vacation, excellent health, dental, vision, and life insurance, sick time, and paid holidays

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing direct library services in an environment committed to excellent public service, planning and implementing library services to youth, representing the library in the community, working with area teachers, managing youth collection development, and supervising a full-time teen librarian. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of library science, early childhood development, readers advisory, reference services, and collection development; ability to supervise staff and work independently; and good communication, writing, research, planning, decision making, and technology skills in order to work effectively with the director, other department heads, local teachers, and the public. A Master’s Degree in Library Science is required. Must pass a background check.
